Margie joined Whirika as a permanent team member in 2025, after working alongside the team on and off since 2023. She supports the Business Operations Manager to ensure smooth systems, processes, and daily operations. With a background in finance, clinical support, and customer service, she brings precision, care, and a collaborative spirit to the team.

Margie has experience across a wide range of roles - from account reconciliation and payroll to phlebotomy and pathology support. Originally trained as a bacteriologist in Colombia, she’s continued to build her skills in New Zealand through additional study and practical roles in both health and trade sectors. Her experience spans administrative support roles across health and trade sectors, including work at Dunedin Hospital and Horizon Glass.

Margie was drawn to Whirika because its values closely mirror her own. She’s passionate about living simply and sustainably.

Outside of work, Margie enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and raising her son, Diego.
