Sharon is Whirika’s Business Operations Manager, supporting the team across systems, processes, finance, HR, and overall operational coordination. She understands the value each team member brings and feels privileged to contribute to Whirika’s mission from behind the scenes.

Sharon thrives on variety, and in her career has done everything from staff management and client support to data analysis and teaching. She has worked across a range of sectors from local government to tertiary education, and with everyone from the warehouse floor to the director’s office. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education, which provides a solid base for working with diverse groups.

What makes Whirika feel like home to Sharon is its vision — a world where nature can thrive. While she recognises the environmental damage caused by humans, she believes in the power of collective action and the positive impact of values-driven teams like Whirika.

When Sharon isn’t in the office, she’s content to be content.
