Katherine is a project manager with a background in environmental consultancy and communications. She joined Whirika in 2025, bringing experience in managing complex projects and supporting environmental initiatives across consultancy, government, and research settings.
In recent years, her work has focused on land use planning and strategic development, helping regionally significant infrastructure providers to operate and develop in ways that appropriately manage their effects on people and the environment.
With formal training in geography and science communication, Katherine is passionate about connecting people with environmental action and supporting the restoration of natural ecosystems.
Raised on the Otago Peninsula, Katherine grew up in a family deeply committed to conservation and farming, vales that shaped her connection to the land and environment from an early age.
When she’s not working, Katherine enjoys rummaging through op shops, chasing after her curious preschooler, or recharging in the outdoors.
